RED BERRIES WITH A SWEET TASTE AND HIGH VITAMIN CONTENT

SPECIAL TIPS:

Also known as the tree of youth for the high content of vitamins and natural antioxidants, its berries contain a quantity of Vitamin C that is 500 times higher than oranges, they are rich in calcium, iron and proteins, in vitamins of group B, in mineral salts and also essential fatty acids.

The Goji plant, grows in a shrub form and can grow up to 2 or 3 meters in height, prefers a fertile, well-drained soil, better if sandy, the plant reaches full maturity after 4 or 5 years, it blooms in the summer months, between May and July and the berries complete ripening at the end of summer: they can be eaten fresh or dried, keeping their benefits intact and pruning towards the end of May to guarantee larger fruits. He loves sunny locations!

Goji berries can be eaten fresh or dried as they keep their benefits intact, if dried they can last up to a year, that is, until the next harvest.

 

GROWING TIPS:

The Goji plant is very rustic and resistant to diseases, it is cultivated as a bush consequently the pruning is limited to the thinning of the plants trying to renew the branches we can also use it to create beautiful hedges, the only disease to which it is sensitive is powdery mildew which must be checked with two simple sprays with natural sulfur-based products during the spring period.
